For over twenty years I have been involved in teaching and practicing the healing arts. The areas of study that I base my practice on are; The Alexander Technique, Bodywork, Shiatsu, Yoga, Reiki, Movement and Meditation.
My early training was in deep tissue massage, shiatsu and reflexology but with poor posture and back pain I began having lessons in the Alexander Technique. I had no idea what it was when I went for my first lesson but I experience both pain relief and fascination at how little I understood about movement - and I was a dancer! It has had a profound impact on my work as a teacher and practitioner as well as in my own life.
In 1990 I completed a three year training program in NYC at The American Center for the Alexander Technique. I was a Volunteer Assistant Faculty for 4 years and I continue to take workshops and lessons. I have had the opportunity to teach workshops in the Alexander Technique in the United States, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Australia.
But my love of doing physical work and energy healing continues and is much broader than just the Alexander Technique. After finishing my studies in the Alexander Technique I began to study with Dr. John Diamond and the Institute for Life Energy to learn more about healing and the creative arts, particularly the role of music in healing.
I bring all of my life and movement experience to my work as a practitioner. I am continually grateful to all of my students as well as all of the wonderful teachers I have worked with who have shaped my vision of health and well being.
